The Hyundai R-182, produced between 1977 and 1985, was a versatile mid-sized bus that played a significant role in urban and intercity transport. Unlike the larger O-302 which used Mercedes technology, the R-182 was developed through a technical partnership with Ford, utilizing a robust chassis and a high-performance turbocharged engine that made it a favorite for transport companies looking for efficiency and speed.

The R-182 was famously equipped with the Ford 2715E or the 2704ET Turbocharged diesel engine. This engine was paired with a 5-speed manual synchronized transmission, providing a top speed of around 110 km/h.
