The original Skoda Rapid was the "performance" version of the legendary Popular. Launched in 1935, it was designed for those who wanted more power, more speed, and more space for long-distance touring. It was the car that brought "Grand Touring" to the Czech masses.

* **Displacement:** 1,386 cc (1.4L), later upgraded to 1.6L in the OHV version.

* **Chassis:** Central tubular backbone frame with **independent all-wheel suspension**.

* *Top Speed:** It could reach over **100 km/h**, which was elite speed for 1935 highways.
